How to Choose the Right LED Work Light Bar
January 18, 20266 min read
A work light bar is more than a source of brightness — it is a safety and productivity tool rated for vibration, weather and extreme duty cycles. Choosing the right one starts with the frame that will carry it: pickup, trailer, agricultural machine or mining equipment.
First decide the beam pattern. A wide flood beam spreads light across the immediate work area, while a focused spot or combo beam reaches further down the road. Many FLYKAY bars pair wide and spot optics in a single housing so one bar covers both.
Next match power and light output to your task. Our range spans from compact 9W single-row bars up to 840W heavy-duty units, with corresponding lumen output for every application. Dismiss any spec that does not state real wattage and voltage range.
Finally, verify durability. Look for die-cast aluminium housings, sealed lenses and a voltage tolerance that accepts 9–36V systems, so the light survives both cold cranking dips and charging spikes without flicker.
When in doubt, tell us the mounting position and working distance — our engineers will recommend the exact bar from the FLYKAY catalogue.
